Education historian and author Diane Ravitch will speak in the Geary Auditorium at the University of Charleston at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Ravitch will be talking about her latest book, “Slaying Goliath,” which is a defense of public education and celebrates the parents, teachers, grandparents, students and others determined to save public schools.

Admission is free.
