The Charleston Light Opera Guild has changed its planned fall show to “Little Women” from its previously announced production of “Elf the Musical.”

Actors who auditioned for “Elf” will be counted as having auditioned for “Little Women.”

The musical, based on the Broadway show, will be presented Oct. 29-31 and Nov. 5-7 at the Clay Center in Charleston.

Auditions will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Charleston Light Opera Guild Theatre on Tennessee Avenue.

This will include reading and singing. Scripts will be provided, but actors should prepare a musical selection to perform and bring sheet music for the accompanist.

For “Little Women,” the guild is looking for a variety of actors who are in their mid-to-late teens to actors who are above 40. Men and women are needed for parts.

Based on present health conditions in Kanawha County and current guidance from the CDC, all those auditioning must show proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to be considered.
