Donell Jones headlines Juneteenth in Charleston

R&B artist Donell Jones performs Saturday for Juneteenth at the Capitol Complex Grounds.

Saturday, R&B artist Donell Jones will perform at the third annual Juneteenth Celebration in Charleston. Sponsored by the Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs, the free festivities commemorate the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas, an historic event that is observed in most states. In addition to a concert by Jones, the event, which begins at 5 p.m. on the State Capitol Complex grounds, will include performances by McKenzie and Jasmyne Gray, Wild & Wonderful WV Dancers, QT Girl, Karma and 3 Chill, Leisha Gray, the Kanawha Players, Jamela Brown and Kingston Price. There will also be games, crafts and food vendors.
