FOOTMAD kicks off its 2019 season of old-time community dances at 7 p.m. on Saturday at The Bakery on Charleston’s West Side.
West Virginia band High Ridge Ramblers will make its dance stage debut. Joyce Rossbach from Elkins will teach and call contras, squares and traditional round dance figures.
Admission is a donation of at least $7. Children 13 and under are free. A beginner’s workshop will start at 6:45 p.m. No partner required. The dance is casual dress.
The Bakery is located at 1007 Bigley Ave., in the former Purity-Maid Bread Factory.
