Where to catch Fourth of July festivities

Fireworks and more happening tonight in Charleston and at several locations in the area.

The city of Charleston will host a July Fourth celebration on Kanawha Boulevard and Haddad Riverfront Park beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The celebration includes music from the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra’s Brass and Percussion ensemble with fireworks to follow at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Barboursville will have fireworks during its annual block party Thursday. Music with Yester Year Oldies begins at 7 p.m. at the gazebo in the Nancy Cartmills Gardens in front of the Veteran’s Home.

Fireworks begin after dark.

Buffalo in Putnam County is celebrating Thursday, as well. The daylong celebration features a parade at 1 p.m., live music beginning at 2 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m.

Finally, in Huntington. The Fly In Café, at 6090 Kylen Lane, will host a Fourth of July party beginning at 6 p.m., featuring live music, a demonstration with the West Virginia Skydivers Association and then fireworks around 9:30 p.m.
