This weekend is the last chance to see the Clay Center’s West Virginia Invitational Exhibition at the Juliet Art Museum.

The exhibition, on display until Sunday, showcases West Virginia artists working in a wide variety of media.

West Virginia Coal Festival begins

The West Virginia Coal Festival returns to Madison this weekend and runs through June 22. The festival opens Tuesday with a memorial to miners and carnival, but several pageants will be held at the Madison Civic Center Saturday.

The festival continues Tuesday through the following Saturday with nightly concerts, a parade and closes at Benjamin Price Bridge with fireworks.

Cade Foehner at Empty Glass

American Idol alumni Cade Foehner comes to the Empty Glass Sunday night. Foehner, a singer from Texas, competed on season 16 of the television talent show and made it to the Top 5 elimination round.

Foehner recently announced he and third-place “American Idol” contestant Gabby Barrett were engaged.

The show, which begins at 7:30 p.m., also includes Lexanna and Pantry’s Party.
