Theater West Virginia presents 'Rocket Boys' musical

“Rocket Boys: The Musical” returns to Theatre West Virginia’s Cliffside Amphitheatre in Grandview, near Beckley, this weekend. Based on Homer Hickam’s best-selling book, “October Sky,” the musical will feature a racially diverse cast, including Rhayne Thomas, an African-American, as Elsie Hickam, Homer Hickam’s mother. The first 100 people attending Friday’s opening night performance will receive a “Rocket Boys: The Musical” poster autographed by Hickam. The author plans to attend the performance Saturday evening. Performances are Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $19.95 for adults and $17.95 for seniors, with children under 12 $9.95.
