Annual report deadline for WV businesses postponed

West Virginia business owners have a couple of extra days to file their annual reports and avoid late fees with the West Virginia Secretary of State's office.

The reports were originally due Monday, but business owners can now pay by Wednesday to avoid a $50 late fee.

Secretary of State Mac Warner delayed the deadline after the Capitol Complex was without power for a couple of days last week, after a tornado touched down near Charleston. due to a network shutdown related to the June 24 tornado in the Charleston area.

All 117,000 for-profit, charity and nonprofit entities in West Virginia must file the annual report, which costs $25.
