West Virginia is the fifth least affordable state in the country — not because its cost of living is particularly high, but because wages are so low.

That’s according to Lensa, a career website that used data from the World Population Review. World Population Review gathers demographic and economic data to see how various parts of the country are faring. The watchdog site Media Bias/Fact Check rates World Population in its “least biased” data category.
