With multiple movies, the Grinch has become a Christmas staple. The 2018 animated version lives up to its predecessors by having the right amount of humor and Christmas spirit. These movies are based on Dr. Seuss’s book “How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” and this movie is a great addition to the Dr. Seuss cinematic universe.
The town of Whoville is once again happy to be celebrating Christmas. Everyone is filled with the holiday spirit flowing through the town except the Grinch (Benedict Cumberbatch) who decides to steal the Who’s Christmas.
Meanwhile, a girl in Whoville named Cindy-Lou Who (Cameron Seely) wants only one thing for Christmas — she wants her mom (Rashida Jones) to be less stressed. As the Grinch forms a plan to steal the Who’s Christmas with the help of furry friends, Cindy-Lou Who makes a plan to catch Santa. With his plan underway and Cindy-Lou determined to catch Santa, the viewer is left with a humorous viewing experience.
This movie is rated PG, and while it is geared toward kids, I have found it to be humorous enough for teens and young adults. All of the characters in the movie are charismatic, and they are enjoyable to watch. Overall, “The Grinch” receives 4.5 out of 5 stars. This is a hilarious film that you won’t regret going to see.
