Eight farms and local businesses in Preston County will host the first Preston County Farm Crawl on Sunday, July 14, a free, interactive opportunity for guests to tour any or all of the locations at their leisure and see farm life in West Virginia in a uniquely up-close and personal way.
Visitors can expect to see grass-fed bison — including seven baby bison; free-range chickens and other farm animals; alpacas; a hydroponic greenhouse with fresh produce; a brewery; a winery; and paintball fields.
Participating sites are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and each location will have tours, samplings and goods for sale. The route takes roughly 3½ hours to drive without stops, so visitors can choose which destinations to visit and how long to stay at each one.
Businesses on the Farm Crawl are Pike Mountain Farm, EB Farm Hydroponics, Crimson Shamrock Ranch, Riffle Farms American Bison, High Ground Brewing, Possum Tail Farm, Rough Right Farm and The Broken Tractor Farm & Winery.
