KVSS Senior Picnic: Kanawha Valley Senior Services will host its annual Senior Picnic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Tiskelwah Center, 600 Florida St. in Charleston. Seniors (age 60 and over) living in Kanawha County are welcome to attend.

Free Community Dinner: A free community dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 905 Glendale Ave. in South Charleston. The United Methodist Women will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs with all the fixings, potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs and drinks. Alzheimer’s Benefit: An Alzheimer’s Benefit Vendor and Hot Dog Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at in the Urban Cleaners parking lot (across from The Cold Spot) in Dunbar. Vendors and their wares will include Avon, Paparazzi, 31, Mary Kay, Color Street, Pampered Chef, candles, baked goods, jams and jellies and cookware. Vendor spots are available for $20. Bird Hike: There will be an hour-long “Bird Hike” starting at 10 a.m. at Ridenour Lake in Nitro. The hike will be led by naturalist Sara Miller, who has led similar hikes at Kanawha State Forest. Those interested in participating should meet at the lake’s Shelter 4 and dress accordingly.
Historical Society Open House: The St. Albans Historical Society will have an open house at its museum, 404 Fourth Ave. in St. Albans, adjacent to the historic C&O Depot, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. See hundreds of old St. Albans photographs, books, yearbooks and displays. Bring your old St. Albans photos to be scanned for the society’s files. Morgan’s Kitchen will be open this summer every Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., as well. Morgan’s Kitchen is located on MacCorkle Avenue in St. Albans, across from the Parkway Flea Market. This museum has pre-Civil War pioneer items and cookware. Admission is free.
Food Truck/Music Festival: The St. Albans Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a food truck and music festival from 4 to 8 p.m. at the St. Albans Roadside Park. Several food trucks will be on site, and music will be performed by Mike Bennett, Travis Vandal and Sonic Threshold. The festival will also include inflatables, face painting and more. Kanawha Kordsmen: The award-winning Kanawha Kordsmen Barbershop Chorus will present its 45th annual show, “Everyone in Harmony,” at the Davis Fine Arts Center, West Virginia State University, Institute, at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the four-part a cappella harmony produced by the Kanawha Kordsmen, the show will feature a special guest, a mixed choir, Harmony ReChoired.
