Vintage West Virginia: Charleston Communication Club's REACT truck

Charleston Communication Club’s REACT (Radio Emergency Associated Communication Teams) vehicle, a 1959 Chevrolet panel truck, was part of the 1966 Veterans Day parade. REACT began as a CB radio Emergency Channel 9 monitoring organization across the United States and Canada in 1962, according to Wikipedia. Initially, the primary role of REACT volunteers was to monitor Channel 9, the CB emergency channel, to help motorists. Later, duties grew to include communications after disasters, like tornadoes or floods.
