Vintage West Virginia: Wilt Chamberlain in WV

Wilt Chamberlain (13) broke the NBA career scoring record on Feb. 14, 1966, in a game played at the Charleston Civic Center between Chamberlain’s Philadelphia 76ers and the Detroit Pistons. Chamberlain’s 41 points in the game put him at 20,884, which eclipsed the previous mark held by Bob Pettit. Chamberlain’s teammate, former Marshall University star Hal Greer (15), added 28 points in the 149-123 Philadelphia victory.
