Kanawha Chapter of the American Guild of Organists
The Kanawha Chapter of the American Guild of Organists marks its 75th anniversary this December and in recognition of this milestone they will be sponsoring several events beginning with their summer Orgelfest organ recital at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kanawha United Presbyterian Church, 1009 Virginia St. E. Chris Engel, music director at Kanawha United Presbyterian and member of the Kanawha Chapter, will be the featured guest artist. He will be playing selections by Bach, Durufle, Vierne and Ives on the sanctuary’s Rieger-Kloss 3 manual organ. Admission is free and a reception will follow the concert.
Beta Sigma Phi sorority meeting
The Torchbearer Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority will meet at 1 p.m. Monday at the home of Sandra Medley. Suzanne Patterson will conduct the meeting and program. Plans for 2019-20 will be discussed as well as the chapter birthday party finalized.
Coin Club meeting
The Charleston Coin Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kanawha City Community Center, 3511 Venable Ave. SE. A coin auction will be held. For information, call 304-727-4062 or visit charlestoncoinclub.org.
Rubberific Rubber Stamp Club
The Rubberific Rubber Stamp Club is offering instruction (and a make and take) on Iris Folding card making. The class will be taught Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 6-8 p.m. The instructor will be Karen Crossman. There is a $5 fee for materials.
