Sorority meeting

Alpha Lambda Master chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Italian Grille, 17 Putnam Village Drive, Hurricane. Karen Figgatt will serve as hostess and president Jeanie Hively will conduct the business meeting.

Animal rescue hot dog saleUnity of Kanawha Valley will host a hot dog sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 804 Myrtle Road, corner of Bridge and Myrtle roads. New Hope Animal Rescue will be on the other side of the parking lot with dogs that need loving, caring families. There will be photos of cats that need to be adopted. Hot dogs, chips, veggie dogs, tofu chili, drinks and desserts will be for sale at the hot dog sale. Ask about coupon special of two hot dogs, chips and drink for just $5.

Democratic Women’s Club

The Putnam County Democratic Women’s Club will hold a Luncheon and Line Dancing event at noon, Saturday at Teays Valley Church of the Nazarene, Hurricane. The cost is $12 per person, with a choice of box lunch. Reservations and lunch order needs to be placed by Wednesday. Call 304-727-1509.

Kids to Park Day

The Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District will partner with New Huntington Church to host a Kids to Parks Day event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Cloud Commons Park, 1701 Jackson Ave., Huntington. MMS spring gala

Mountaineer Montessori School will present its annual spring gala, “Spreading Our Wings,” from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Woman’s Club of Charleston. The event celebrates education that elevates, with proceeds benefiting the MMS financial aid fund. The evening will feature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, silent auctions and more. The regular meeting of the Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will meet at 1:30 p.m. May 20 at 1525 Washington St. W.
