Historical society meeting
The St. Albans Historical Society’s fall meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at 404 Fourth Ave., adjacent to the C&O Depot. Kyle Warmack of the South Charleston Interpretive Center will talk about the Naval Ordnance Plant. Open to the public.
Trail Club hike
The Kanawha Trail Club will have a hike at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Kanawha State Forest Old-Growth Forest Dedication and Hike. Carpool from the parking lot at the corner of Ohio Avenue and Randolph Street, across from Sherwin Williams. Regroup at 1 p.m. at the Four Mile entrance to Kanawha State Forest to join the Old-Growth Forest Network as they dedicate a tract in the forest as a protected old-growth forest. After the dedication, there will be a hike to see special old-growth areas of the forest with a variety of trees being highlighted during the hike.
Housing Authority meeting
The South Charleston Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the administrative offices, 520 Goshorn St., South Charleston.
Garden Club meeting
The Kanawha Estates Garden Club will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at our new garden sign (skip if raining). We will then gather at the home of Mary Jenkins for our covered dish meeting. Bring your Ronald McDonald snack and covered dish as we begin our new season.
Torchbearer Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Panera Bread in Southridge Centre. President Suzanne Patterson will be in charge of the meeting and will pass out yearbooks for 2018-2019 year.
