Amber K. Wymer, 41, of Charleston, accused of first-degree murder, is led away after entering a not guilty plea Monday morning in Kanawha County Circuit Court.
A Charleston woman accused of killing her boyfriend’s 20-year-old daughter earlier this year denied the charge Monday morning.
Amber Kay Wymer, 41, entered a not guilty plea to first-degree murder in the death of Abigail Marcinkowsky during her arraignment before Kanawha Circuit Judge Kenneth Ballard.
Charleston police say they responded to the stabbing around 8 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 800 block of Bauer Avenue in the Edgewood Area.
Marcinkowsky was found with multiple stab wounds to the neck, police say. Paramedics attempted to save her but she was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
Police say that, upon investigation, they discovered Wymer and Marcinkowsky were in an “ongoing argument,” and Wymer had obtained a knife and stabbed Marcinkowsky in the neck. Wymer was in a relationship with Marcinkowsky’s father and lived with the two at the residence, according to the Charleston Police Department.
Wymer’s case has been set for trial Aug. 21. She remains at South Central Regional Jail without bail.
