West Virginia firefighter dies in ATV collision

LOGAN, W.Va. — A Logan firefighter driving an ATV collided head-on with  a tractor-trailer and died from his injuries.

Ernie Woods, 46, crashed Saturday. State Police troopers said the ATV swerved into the opposite lane, causing the collision.

Logan Fire Chief Scott Beckett told WCHS that Woods was a Logan firefighter for 10 years, a former Logan police officer and an Army veteran.

Woods was on vacation and was supposed to get married next week.
