Kanawha County native recognized by Glenville State
The Glenville State College Department of Business has recognized Zachary Lively from Dunbar as the Outstanding Sport Management Student. Annual recognition of top business students is based on multiple criteria including academic achievement, class rank, campus involvement and leadership in department classes and programs. Additionally, some students are recognized for specific departmental awards.

GSC awards scholarship to Kanawha County student
Glenville State College student Bethany Spelock of Glasgow has been awarded the H. Darrell and Violet Woofter Memorial Scholarship from the GSC Foundation for the 2019-2020 academic school year. She is an Early Education and Elementary Education major and is the daughter of DeAnnia Blankenship-Spelock.
The H. Darrell and Violet Woofter Memorial Scholarship is funded by the residual estate of H. Darrel Woofter to express his appreciation for the educational opportunities afforded him and his wife Violet that allowed for their continuing success in their business and education careers. It is awarded to legal residents of Kanawha and Gilmer counties who have demonstrated academic achievement.

Greenbrier student places first in social studies fairRaelyn Snedegar, a third grade student at Ronceverte Elementary School, won an overall grand prize ribbon at her school’s West Virginia State Social Studies Fair recently. Her social studies project was on the Civilian Conservation Corps at Babcock State Park. Snedegar went on to compete and win the Greenbrier County Social Studies Fair. She represented Greenbrier County Schools at the regional fair, where she won first place.
