Two computer-powered cars in West Virginia University’s Personal Rapid Transit system collided Wednesday afternoon.
WVU Transportation and Parking confirmed two PRT cars were involved in a crash late Wednesday afternoon between the Beechurst Avenue and Walnut Street stations in Morgantown, according to a statement issued by the university. One car rear-ended another in the westbound lane.
Six passengers were on board at the time, and two were treated for minor injuries, according to the university.
Service between the Beechurst Avenue and Walnut Street PRT stations will remain out of operation until it’s determined why the cars collided.
Bus service is available as an alternative from both stations.
