Two people were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds in a North Charleston home Wednesday morning, police said.
Lt. Autumn Davis, a spokeswoman for the Charleston Police Department, said in an email that Jenni Chesney, 47, and Kenneth Campbell, 50, were found dead at 3921 Washington St. West. Chesney and Campbell lived there together, Davis said.
Charleston police are handling the investigation as a double homicide. No arrests had been made as of Tuesday evening, Davis said.
A dog also was found shot to death at the home, she said.
Kanawha Metro 911 dispatchers received a call of two people who died of cardiac arrest at that location at 7 a.m., a dispatcher said.
“It appears as though it came in as a medical call, and when the medics arrived, they determined that a crime had occurred, so they called the police department and, since then, it has been an active crime scene,” Davis said Wednesday morning.
Police say anyone with information should call the Criminal Investigation Division at 304-348-6480 or 304-348-8111.
