Two residents and a firefighter were injured in a house fire in Charleston’s East End Friday afternoon. The fire was reported at 2:46 p.m. in the 1500 block of Quarrier Street.
Capt. David Hodges, director of EMS operations for the Charleston Fire Department, said the two residents were taken to a local hospital where they were being treated for burns. Their condition was not known Friday evening, he said.
The firefighter appeared to have a leg injury that was not life-threatening, Hodges said.
Firefighters attempted to save a cat that was in the home, but they were unsuccessful.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Hodges said.
