Elizabeth Michelle Knight, of South Charleston, WV, formerly of Huntington, WV, died at home on March 18, 2018. She lost her 15-year battle with addiction. She would have been 34 on March 27, 2018.
Ms. Knight was born in Charleston, WV, to John Anthony Knight of Charleston, WV, and Debbie Lee Walls of Hurricane, WV. She attended Montrose Elementary School, South Charleston Middle School and South Charleston High School. She was married to Evan Given of Charleston and had two wonderful twin children, Katheryn Elizabeth Given and Bradyn Cavender Given on April 21, 2009. She had one step sister, Courtney Leigh Colston of Myrtle Beach, SC, and many sister cousins who she shared life with. She was very active in Narcotics Anonymous for several years in both Huntington and Charleston, having a home group and sponsor.
Elizabeth worked at Outback Steak House in Charleston, WV, for several years and recently worked for the Le Bistro in Huntington, WV. She was a server extraordinaire and loved the interaction with people the job provided.
She also was the epitome of the "drama queen" and loved being the center of attention. She was happiest when she had plenty of people around where she could be seen and heard. Her family loved her for this and would relish the emotions of her Irish passion. And she was a true Irish woman with a fierce personality. Elizabeth loved The Dave Mathews Band and attended a plethora of concerts. She was an outdoor enthusiast who loved the mountains and valleys of West Virginia. Elizabeth was very active for almost three years in Narcotics Anonymous both in Charleston and Huntington. She spent many hours working to save others from this insidious and overwhelming disease.
Her greatest treasure was the time with her children. And her greatest accomplishment was gaining sobriety and the victory of winning back unsupervised visitation.
Ms. Knight is predeceased by her grandfathers, Thomas A. Knight of Charleston and Huda Lane (Junior) Bailey Jr. of Logan, and uncle George David Anderson of Charleston.
