Bettina Dawn Barr, 49, of Poca, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2018, at her residence following a two-year battle with breast cancer. Not once did she let her struggle discourage her from living life for those surrounding her, always putting others first. She was a wife, mom and warrior and was an inspiration to many, including her friends and family. She has touched more hearts with her shining light and resilience than she could have ever known.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, October 15, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, Poca, W.Va. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Cemetery in Hometown, W.Va.
Tina was born on December 12, 1968, in Huntington, W.Va. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Perry, and grandmother, Mary; grandfather, Avery Nicely, and grandmother, Eula; and mother, Patricia Perry of Huntington.
She is survived by her father, Ernest Perry and wife Anita Perry of Huntington; loving husband, Lee Barr; three sons, Christopher Alan Thevenin and wife Sarah of Concord, N.C., Cody Barr and girlfriend Katelyn Pullin, and Preston Barr of Poca; four siblings, Tammy May of Lavalette, W.Va., Lisa Perry of Wayne, W.Va., Tish Smith and husband Matt, of Proctorville, Ohio, and John Perry of Huntington; many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Gatens - Harding Funeral Home in Poca, W.Va.
