As the substance use disorder problem grows in West Virginia, we should take a moment to really look at why it’s growing, instead of only looking at how to help people after they already have the disorder.

The world of medical power and big money has been pushing out drugs as fast as they can think, and this is what is causing substance use disorder in our state.

Building a clinic or creating more programs isn’t going to stop the amount of people falling to the disorder.

The solution to this problem is to get the Freedom to Vote Act in and get all the big money people out of our politicians’ ears or for us to force them out by voting out the politician. The fact that drugs are thrown to patients like nothing is proof it’s only about money.

I personally got my wisdom teeth out recently and received a whole bottle of painkillers for a thing that hurt for five days, which was not needed at all.

We need to get Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., to vote for the act and get Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., to push further with this bill. We need to stop the hurt almost every family has felt because of big money and prescription meds.
