I read Dr. Tom Takubo’s op-ed in the Leaders Corner earlier this month and found it the height of arrogance. It would seem that a pulmonologist would have plenty of business during the COVID-19 crisis and he is crying poor, asking the West Virginia congressional delegation to help him keep his doors open. I find it hard to believe that Dr. Takubo is in danger of closing his doors, but I am assuming that his income is probably four times that of most West Virginians.
I am outraged he, as a physician and state senator, is asking for help from our legislators and the federal government. This is more than poor timing, it reeks of supremacist thinking that he is being hurt by the government and our laws.
