Questioning the so-called climate change experts is not denying anything. It’s trying to make a informed decision. I did a search for scientists that support climate change and those who deny it or think it has a lesser effect. Believe it or not there are thousands of scientists on both side…

Why is that Suddenlink cannot provide decent cable service and internet in the Alum Creek area? The cable is constantly pixelated and the internet is never the speed you pay for. I’ve talked to several people in the area that have the same problems. When you call Suddenlink, time after time,…

Every senator and representative took an oath tho uphold and protect the U.S. Constitution. It clearly lists bribery as an impeachable offense. This is not a witch hunt!

You mention the Constitution but apparently haven’t read it. The House gathers evidence to decide if the president should be impeached, like a grand jury. The trial will be before the Senate, where the president has due process, including witnesses.

I hear that smoking pot has a lot of good health qualities such as easing pain and several other ailments. But what does all that smoke do to a person’s lungs?

In Tuesday’s article about the declining steel industry in the U.S., a quote about the imposition of Trump’s tariffs said “it seems like it kind of backfired.” Seems like a great summary of the whole Trump term of office.

If you live near a coal mine or strip mine, you are in danger of deadly water, air and soil pollution. If you vote Republican you are signing your own death sentence. Republicans, and especially Trump, are allowing our environment and our health to be destroyed so coal operators can make pro…

Yes the Republicans made a mistake four years ago by fielding so many candidates in the primary. Common sense voters corrected the mistake by picking the right man for the job. Sadly the Democrats are not only repeating the mistake. There is no right person for the job in their mix.

Hats off to Fred Dillon of St. Albans. He did a wonderful job in such a short letter to the editor. His views seem like common sense to me. I wish someone could explain the opposite view in the same fashion while offering indisputable facts like Mr. Dillon did.

Can’t make this stuff up. Oak Park, IL. Liberal town officials wanting to make a statement concerning town diversity. They’re fighting over which official is most oppressed and has the right to make the statement. Can’t just be a liberal. You have to be more liberal than the other liberal.

Trump said he didn’t tell Pelosi and other Democrat leaders about the military plans because of leaks, yet he could not mention one example of Pelosi leaking information. Most leaks about Trump’s administration come straight from the White House itself. People working in the White House want…

Alex Mooney is either ignorant or deliberately misleading his constituents when he writes that “this process is all very one-sided because the President is not allowed to have his legal counsel present, he’s not allowed to cross-examine witnesses, and he’s not allowed to offer counter-eviden…

In 2015, the Republicans had a nice group of potential presidential candidates. They made a mistake. What will it take to correct that mistake? The Republican party is a total disgrace. Anyone with any intelligence can see the fear of Trump that Republicans in Congress show by not standing u…

So President Trump abandons the Kurds and pulls our forces out of Syria. But then, he wants to backtrack and send in tanks and other armor to protect the oil fields. Is that not the height of the new Trump-Republican party hypocrisy? We were going to end our participation in a supposedly poi…

Thank you Republican Congressional Representatives for your childish demonstration of how to shut down government through mob action. It was a disgusting display of disrespect and, hopefully, it will not become the new “norm” for protesting legitimate activities of government.

I want to see a list which indicates whether these opioid abusers are on public assistance or not. There’s your answer right there. If they had jobs, they wouldn’t have the time or money for pill popping.

Is your reasoning faculty so flawed that you cannot perceive the difference between abruptly abandoning vulnerable allies on one hand, or slowly deliberately leaving after establishing an agreement with Turkey that would protect our allies?

“Conservatives” continue to ridicule the Democratic presidential contestants for their discussions on health insurance. Again you need to appreciate that they are talking about it whereas Republicans are not. I hope you realize Republicans want to destroy not only Obamacare but Medicare and …

Like no president ever, Trump has turned his back on a country of people that saved us from the daily torment of losing loved ones. Now the super dangerous criminals are free because of a very simple man who can’t govern.

I don’t think harassing a president with impeachment and investigations and not letting him be president, by a bunch of radical haters in the House is what our founding fathers had in mind.

It’s interesting to see the Christian right denounce liberals and talk about them as though they were the scum of the earth. If they would read their Bible very closely, they would find that Jesus Christ was the greatest liberal of all time.

Putin’s venture in Syria just went from a terrible mistake to a great success. Thanks to President Trump.

Americans are getting tired of Trump’s rant and rave lies at his rallies. Why do we need to see all of his anger and hear his cursing on TV news? Children watch TV! He does not impress people with his behavior anymore.

How low will our senators go to keep their power? We need new representation that will go to Washington to defend our values not just theirs and our economic interest.

In a rally speech last night, Trump said Biden was a good vice president only because he knew how to kiss Barack Obama’s butt. Amazing, coming from a man who gets up each day demanding that everyone kiss his.

Trump is the worst president in the history of the USA. He is so narcissistic that he can’t think of anything except what benefits him, his family, and his wealthy acquaintances. He does not care about America or Americans. He is similar to a mob boss or a cult leader. He has no loyalty to h…

I don’t need to look up the definition of a liberal. I know what they are and I know I don’t like them or what they stand for. I won’t vote for a Democrat regardless if I like the person or not based upon the liberal agenda that party promotes. I want people that place working, retired and h…

Is “free” K-12 education socialist? How is “free” college different than “free” K-12? It’s a bad thing that college debt now stops so many people from starting businesses and families. “Socialist” doesn’t mean, “deprives bankers of cash stream.”

If photo ops could fix Charleston the city would be pristine. But they don’t and the do-nothing, missing in action, mayor who doesn’t care is guiding the beautiful city of Charleston into the dumps. Charleston deserves better!

I am perplexed by the occasional vents that claim that President Trump is working for the American people. Seriously, what has he done?

When was the last time Trump signed a legislative bill into law? Trump wont sign a bill with bipartisan support. He doesn’t want to look weak. The U.S. Senate President, Mitch McConnell, will not allow a vote on a bill unless Trump says he will support and sign it. They don’t want to look we…

Thank you for running editorial cartoons that were critical of both Democrats and Republicans in the Wednesday paper. It’s nice to see the Gazette-Mail recognize that there are some conservative people out there who read their paper. News wise, I have always liked the Gazette. Editorially, a…

I have to agree that it seems like a coup. It has been an impeachment in search of a reason since 2016. This back and forth between the political parties needs to stop. It will only get worse from here. The media is guilty also.

My partner and I dine at SoHo’s frequently. Sharon has always greeted us with kindness and professionalism. On Valentine’s Day when we couldn’t find a place to dine, she made a table for us. I think losing SoHo’s is a travesty and Sharon and the staff are being treated shabbily.

Mining coal has always been a dangerous, dirty, unhealthy, difficult job, and bad for the environment, but we had few other options. Now we have cleaner options that use solar, wind, and powerful batteries. It is time to let go of coal. Just as we replaced horses with automobiles, whale oil …

Kudos to Delegate Andrew Robinson for “Addiction fight far from over.” Go another step and ask of the disabled intractable pain sufferers who commit suicide daily from having legitimate pain treatment taken from us.

Corporate welfare provides endless amounts of money for corporations to influence elections and influence government decisions that benefit them. Individual welfare helps provide the basic necessities for poor people to survive.

Pure idiocy is assigning blame for actions taken by rogue regimes! If Iran did attack another country’s oil fields, it would be to make oil supplies short. Short supply equals higher prices. Duh!

Heck no, I don’t want to be a part of Virginia. They went liberal years ago and I don’t want to live in a liberal state. I can’t think of anything that could be worse other than living in a liberal country.

I’ve got the solution. Ask Virginia to take us back. The reunification worked in Germany. It should work here. We’ll even support renaming the song “almost heaven Western Virginia.”

So the Trump administration has given major tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires, and now to offset those losses proposes to take food off the tables of low- or no-income families. In this land of plenty, what’s wrong with Trump and his administration that they could morally justify t…

I think golf carts being allowed on the side streets in Nitro is a great idea. They are easy to handle, economical and environmentally friendly. It is the responsibility of everyone who operates a vehicle (gas powered or otherwise) to be aware of their surroundings while driving/riding.

Auto workers go on strike, wanting more of the record profits of GM. Now we learn they have a corrupt union, some things never change. I wish they’d keep their union clean and quit supporting Republican demagogues like Trump, then I’d feel more supportive. But some things never change.
