On these Presidential debates why can’t the moderators simply shut off the microphone when the candidates abuse their allotted time?

I grew a up Christian, but the religion left me! Jesus taught us, love our neighbor, welcome and comfort the stranger, care for the weak, the old, the sick, and the poor. And yet evangelicals consistently vote for Republicans who oppose those concepts. Jesus would have, without a doubt kicked Donald Trump and his whole family out of the temple! In a heart beat!

All those criticizing the detainment of illegals at the border should be required to bring a “family” of illegals into their homes to house, feed and support. Until that happens they should be quiet about how our tax dollars are spent down there.

WV has been last in every poll, survey and measurement for decades. As long as I can remember. Somebody vented Republicans are moving us back 65 years. Maybe that’s a good thing. Maybe WVDOH will remember how to fix a pothole.

Just read where Mitsubishi is relocating its headquarters from California to Tennessee. Bet Tennessee being a right-to-work state had absolutely nothing to do with it. Wake up West Virginia!!

There’s 2,000 vacancies in the Border Patrol. It seems most decent people don’t want a job where they are required to abuse migrants, especially children.

It would be nice to see the money, real facts of charter schools in other states and the costs they bear.

Reading social media comments about charter schools. Seems many teachers and their supporters admit the state’s education level is very low. Sounds to me they’re admitting they’re not doing a good job. Imagine a carpenter saying: “I’m not very good but I demand a raise.”

I fully support Mr. Swint’s call for removal of the Stonewall Jackson statue. But if we truly want to work toward wiping out the remnants of racism and bigotry, we also need to remove the statue of our late Senator Byrd, along with taking his name off the numerous roads and buildings that bear it.

To the venter that said no red-blooded American wants socialism, hold on venter. I am 71 years old and I guarantee you I’m as red-blooded as they come. I have never missed an election and will vote in 2020 even if I’m on my death bed. I am fed up with capitalism. From Reagan and his trickle down lie to Trump and his tax break for the rich. Capitalism is why we no longer have a middle class and every generation keeps getting further behind.
