To the misinformed venter: Criminals don’t obey the law and will always have guns. A homeowner has the right to defend himself. Police are minutes away, but criminals are seconds away!

Route 21 from Charleston to Sissonville looks like an old quilt. By the way, we need some more patches.

Worker rights were enacted by government, so one of the most important things unions do today is to help elect Democrats who will preserve those rights instead of Republicans who want to take them away.

For 20-plus years, small schools have been fighting to compete in Class A sports. People wanted change but then fight it before they even see the results of that change or see the final results. Bernie Dolan and WVSSAC heard these cries and decided to try something different. Those complaining do not live in a small county devastated by the economy and population loss. What about some change for these folks?

Jim Justice is a disaster! And they called Arch Moore a crook?

What caused the dust bowl drought in the 1930s? That was about 70 years before global warming or climate change was ever heard of. That is a puzzlement.

People who think unions are no longer necessary are delusional. After Don Blankenship busted the union in a lot of mines, we got Upper Big Branch. Now black lung is getting worse and miners are losing their pensions. And the government isn’t protecting them.

I can kind of understand that as a cost-cutting measure you had to drop excellent comics like Dilbert and Non Sequitur but for the love of God, adding a Chuck Landon column? Have you no shame?

You can’t help but question how the national Republican lobbyists are compensating Mitchell Carmichael of his persistence in segregating the public school system. Backward steps to Make America Great? Right!

A venter recently used an inflammatory word, that being “segregation,” to criticize charter schools. For sure, the idea behind charters is to offer some poor kid from a family of limited means a better than average public education. That is the way it works in other states. Around here, motivated parents just pay tuition so their kid can be “segregated” in a private school.
