Readers' Vent: June 14, 2019

The census has several uses. The two main ones are to see how many people live where and to help draw up congressional districts. It makes no sense to me not to include the question of if the person is a citizen or not. Sure we want to know everyone that’s here. But we also don’t want foreigners being considered when we draw up the districts.

If the advantage of charter schools is that they don’t have to follow all of the myriad policies established by the Legislature, why not just get rid of all of those policies for all of the public schools?

You won’t see it or hear it on your media news. As I was watching candidate Bernie Sanders give an enormous speech they cut him off and then proceeded to criticize him. They are afraid of him because he is against the crony capitalist.

Do you realize with all the appearance of cover-ups going on in the West Virginia catholic church, and state government, we are now seeing another Watergate! Instead of the federal Watergate scandal of the 1970s, we now have our version entitled the West Virginia Gate scandals?

How do I become a volunteer cuddler at Thomas Hospital’s new unit? Who do I contact?

Missing from right wing abortionist fact sheets about pregnant person in Alabama who was raped, is allowing rapist to sue for custody of child. I can bet lots of little girls want to move to this state.

In the future, all Wheeling-Charleston Diocese Priests and Permanent Deacons need to take vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, including the next bishop. Currently, in this diocese there are some priests who tend to take exotic trips, stay in luxury hotels, and eat in gourmet restaurants. Bishop Bransfield is not the only priest who is/was living an extravagant lifestyle at the expense of West Virginia Catholics.
