Readers' Vent: May 10, 2019

Purchased shrubs, etc. at Green’s Feed & Seed. Heartwarming to find their mulch is from the Grant County business.

Why are people assuming that West Virginia drivers cannot handle a roundabout? They have one in Morgantown and it seems to work fine. It will be new and different, but drivers will adapt.

If you leave your car running to run into store for quick purchase and somebody takes it, don’t go on social media and say somebody stole it. You gave it to them.

Remember his 2012 tweet complaining that half of Americans didn’t pay income tax? We now know that he was talking about himself. And now we can see that in dramatically increasing our country’s debt, he really is running the country like he did did his businesses. Was this what you thought you were voting for?

If people would pay their bills or at least talk to their creditors then debt collectors wouldn’t have to resort to extreme measures. I guarantee those people had ignored numerous letters and phone messages.

The only things certain in life are death, taxes and highway contractors from other states arriving when spring rolls around to replace perfectly good guardrail and paint stripes through the potholes.

Do we have any actual adults in Congress? All the Republicans talk about is Bill and Hillary, and all the Democrats do is talk. Would they just please issue the subpoenas and contempt citations and start impeachment. Please shut up and do something. I’m sick of all of them.

Mayor Goodwin said she won’t ask her employees to do anything she wouldn’t be willing to do. Well, she’s wrong. She won’t work for $22,000 per year but is more than willing to have her employees work for that sub-living wage. Sad!

I wish something could be done about the parking situation on Capitol Street. There’s never anywhere to park when I need to just run in somewhere to pick something up. Others have come up with the solution of double parking in the street, but that’s both illegal and dangerous. Can’t we do better?
