Readers' Vent: May 23, 2019

Actually the Republicans are doing the right thing about abortion. Taking the federal government out of the issue and leaving it up to the individual states to decide what’s best for them. That’s the way it was set up in the beginning. Democrats need to go back to school and quit rewriting the history books.

In Charleston, they need to get rid of the traffic cones on I-64 between the Oakwood Road exit and the I-64/I-79 split. It’s bad enough on a normal day without trying to cram four lanes of traffic down into two. Half of the traffic isn’t even going to go north through the construction anyway, but will instead be turning right, towards Beckley!

To all veterans: this Memorial Day weekend, how about wearing one of your Veteran caps or pins to show everyone your pride in serving our country. As for everyone else, how about thanking each veteran you meet this weekend.

Well, let’s buy all the drug addicts a one way bus ticket to Johns Hopkins.

I hear all the talk about feeding children during the summer. I have a question. Why in the world does no one talk about the responsibility of parents? It is their responsibility to feed and clothe the kids they choose to have. Many are on welfare so there is absolutely no excuse. The kids should come before selfish parents’ drug, cigarette, liquor and beer habits.

Is anyone talking about how the WV Chamber of Commerce has failed our state in terms of promoting and facilitating real business growth? Not sure their opinion on education is valid until they produce for our state.

Come on, legislators! Our governor admittedly violates our state Constitution on a daily basis and yet you do nothing. The oath you swore upon entering the office requires you to take action. Apparently no man is above the law is just a fantasy.

To the venter who mentioned FOX propaganda, what was Russia, Russia, Russia for two and a half years?
