Readers' Vent: May 9, 2019

West Virginia officially has a deadbeat governor. I hope the Feds bring the hammer down on the whole family for this continual inability to pay their bills.

West Virginia drivers can barely drive straight. Now a roundabout will be added, something barely any West Virginia driver has experience with? South Charleston police will have a cluster on their hands.

After reading the article about ALEC in Tuesday’s paper, whether or not they are a member of ALEC should be the first question we ask any politician running for office. If they are, they aren’t working for the people who elect them. Remember Robert Karnes?

Mayor Robb had his most success during the years FMC and Carbide were pumping money into his economy. When they left, he turned in his keys and retired. Why is he returning now? Mayor Mullens improved things without all the extra funds and Robb wants to take advantage of it.

Why are the obituaries and corresponding pictures of the deceased so large now in the paper? It is disconcerting. Please go back to the old way of presentation.

Where is my West Virginia state tax return!? We received our Federal Tax Return on Feb. 11.

Religion is the greatest hoax ever played on mankind!

Another school shooting. This one was less than 10 miles away from Columbine High School. What are we forcing our children to endure? A boy who was days away from graduating, from celebrating end of a chapter of his life and marking a new one, died trying to stop the shooting. He was a child. What are we asking of our children? What is it going to take, people?

Between now and end of school year, the parking lots at movie theaters and Jump Zone activity centers will be lined with school buses. At top of list of teacher’s needs is pay raise. And they wonder why they’re losing support from the public.
