Former Conference USA rivals Marshall and East Carolina will now play four football games in the 2020s, as the schools reached an agreement to play in 2023 and 2025.

The Thundering Herd will head to Greenville, North Carolina to take on ECU on Sept 9, 2023. The Pirates will return the game in Huntington on Sept 13, 2025.

That adds to the home-and-home series in which the teams play in Greenville on Sept. 5, 2020 and in Huntington on Sept. 13, 2021. The Herd now has three non-conference games scheduled in 2023, with home games against Navy and Liberty.

The 2025 game is MU’s first on the non-conference slate. The Herd is booked through 2020, with one spot open in 2021 and three in 2022.
