Taevon Horton hit a 3-pointer with two seconds left on in overtime to lift West Virginia State University to an 89-88 men’s basketball win over Shaw in the finale of the Earl Lloyd Classic Saturday night in Institute.

WVSU (2-0), which trailed Shaw 35-27 at halftime, was led in scoring by Malik Whitaker’s 23 points. Horton added 21 points and Dwaine Jones had 15.
