Drew Williamson dropped in four 3-pointers and scored 17 points Friday night to pace Chapmanville to a 57-40 boys basketball sectional title game victory against Logan at Mingo Central.
The Tigers (23-1), who won their 17th straight, captured the Class AA Region 4 Section 2 crown and host Nitro (20-4) in Thursday’s regional for a berth in the state tournament.
Logan (16-9) is not eliminated, but must play at Section 1 champion Winfield (17-7) at 7 p.m. Thursday in the other regional co-final.
On Friday, Chapmanville vaulted into an 11-point lead after one quarter and kept extending its advantage. Devin Collins added 13 points and Obinna Anochili-Killen 11 for the Tigers, who hit 10 3-point goals.
The Wildcats were led by Dino Noe’s 14 points.
