Wheeling Central (22-2) earned the No. 1 seed for next week’s Class A boys basketball state tournament at the Charleston Civic Center and will meet No. 8 Tyler Consolidated (17-8) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 15. All first-round Class A games are set for March 15.

Ravenswood (24-1), ranked No. 1 in the final state poll, received the No. 2 state tournament seed and plays No. 7 Webster County (18-6) at 1 p.m. Webster’s last visit came in 2013 as a Class AA program.

In the other first-round matchups, No. 3 seed Tug Valley (18-7) and No. 6 Greater Beckley Christian (16-7) tangle at 9:30 a.m., and No. 4 Notre Dame (18-6), the defending state champion, battles No. 5 Trinity (18-7) at 9 p.m.
