Wayne used a 22-2 run over the first and second quarter to power past Lincoln County 70-28 to win the Class AA Region 4 co-final Thursday at Pioneer Gym in Wayne.

The Pioneers punch their ticket to next week’s state tournament for the first time in school history and extend their winning streak to 23.

Lakyn Adkins and Maddie Wilcox each tallied 13 points to pace Wayne (24-1), which stormed out to a 43-12 advantage at halftime.

Gracie Jones led Lincoln County with seven points.

With the win, Wayne enters next week’s state tournament as the No. 3 seed, and takes on sixth-seeded Logan in Wednesday’s quarterfinals. Tipoff is set for 9:30 a.m.
