Bronson Skeens had a pair of interceptions, returning one 97 yards for a touchdown Friday night, as Poca moved to a 2-0 with a 38-8 prep football victory at Chapmanville.
Jay Cook hit on 9 of 11 passes for 132 yards and two TDs for the Dots, one to Skeens for 8 yards and another to Owen McClanahan for 56 yards. Ethan Payne carried 10 times for 104 yards, including a 49-yard TD romp. Poca led 21-0 after one quarter despite running just four offensive plays.
The Tigers (0-2) scored with 8:27 left in the game on Seth Whitt’s 1-yard TD run. Nick Collier rushed for 107 yards for Chapmanville. Each team had 16 penalties for more than 100 yards.
Tolsia 36, Buffalo 6: Devon Crum carried 24 times for 172 yards and five touchdowns to pace the visiting Rebels (1-1) to victory in the first game at the Bison’s new stadium. Crum also had a pair of 2-point conversion runs.
For the Bison (0-2), Chase Lovejoy scored on a 20-yard run in the final quarter. Buffalo suffered five turnovers, four of them lost fumbles.
Point Pleasant 58, South Harrison 7: Cason Payne threw for four touchdowns and Brady Adkins ran for a pair of scores for the visiting Big Blacks (2-0). Payne completed 9 of 15 passes for 160 yards, with two TD tosses going to Andrew Jones.
For the Hawks (0-2), Jaren Robinson scored on a 19-yard run in the third quarter. South Harrison was held to 113 total yards.
Fayetteville 39, Valley 8: Jordan Dempsey carried 19 times for 130 yards and two TDs and Logan Frantz ran 17 times for 122 yards and two more scores for the visiting Pirates (2-0).
The Greyhounds (0-2) got a 47-yard TD run from Kaleb Crisp in the final minute. Crisp ended with 51 yards rushing and 31 receiving.
Sherman 46, Tug Valley 0: J.T. Hensley rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns and threw a 55-yard TD pass to Lance Hudson for the host Tide (1-1). Sherman forced four turnovers from the Panthers (1-1).
Tommy Harper added 88 yards and two rushing TDs for Sherman.
Ravenswood 31, Webster County 16: Jacob Anthony rushed for 159 yards and two TDs as the visiting Red Devils rallied from a 16-3 halftime deficit. Luke Jackson added a TD run, a team-high 12 tackles and forced three fumbles for Ravenswood (2-0).
For the Highlanders (0-2), Reece Nutter threw scoring passes to Luke Hardway and Caleb Milam.
Scott 21, St. Marys 14: Connor White ran for a pair of TDs and Caleb Dingess had one as the visiting Skyhawks (1-1) broke away from a 7-all halftime score.
For the Blue Devils (0-1), Shawn Boley and Lucas Lipscomb had scoring runs.
Lincoln County 37, Roane County 6: Tanner Walls ran for 119 yards and two TDs and Carson McComas added two scoring runs for the host Panthers (1-1).
The Raiders (0-2) went up 6-0 in the first quarter on an Isaac Ryan 19-yard TD run. Danny Bush threw for 85 yards for Roane.
