After rallying from down 6-3 in the top of the ninth to force extra innings, the West Virginia Power fell in 11 innings to the Charleston Riverdogs 7-6 Wednesday night in Charleston, South Carolina.
In the top of the ninth, Nick Rodriguez drove in Onil Pena to bring West Virginia within two runs, Dean Navarez scored off a wild pitch to bring the Power within a run, and JR Davis singled to bring in Cesar Izturis Jr. to tie the game at 6-6 and force extras.
In the bottom of the 11th, Josh Stowers batted in Eduardo Torrealba to score the winning run for Charleston.
Canaan Smith led Charleston by going 2 for 4, while Mitchell Robinson hit a double for the RiverDogs.
Charlie McConnell led the Power with two hits and an RBI while Izturis and Pena had two hits apiece.
Aaron McGarity (2-2) was the winning pitcher for Charleston after allowing one hit in his two innings pitched.
Charleston improves to 22-17, while the Power drop to 20-18.
