The Asheville Tourists exploded for 14 runs from the fifth through eighth innings on Saturday night, handing the West Virginia Power yet another lopsided defeat in a 16-1 win at Asheville, North Carolina.

The loss, which dipped the Power below the .500 mark on the year at 27-28, came on the heels of a 14-1 pasting the Tourists (24-31) handed them Friday night.

On Saturday, Asheville third baseman Danny Edgeworth hit home runs in the sixth and eighth innings as part of going 3 for 5 with five RBIs in the win. The Tourists also got homers from Kyle Datres — who also doubled twice — and shortstop Coco Montes.

Asheville had a 2-1 lead in the fifth but added three runs in the fifth, three more in the sixth, three again in the seventh and five in the eighth. Power pitchers did not help their cause much, as they combined to throw six wild pitches. Starter Damon Casetta-Stubbs (2-4) threw two, and reliever Sal Biasi threw three.

Power center fielder Charlie McConnell doubled twice in the loss.

The teams wrap up the weekend series at 2:05 p.m. Sunday. The Power then moves on to Hickory for a three-game series against the Crawdads before returning home June 6 for a four-game series against Greenville.
