After entering the seventh inning tied at one apiece with visiting Greenville, a three-run seventh inning propelled the West Virginia Power to a 4-2 win Friday night at Appalachian Power Park.

Nick Rodriguez kicked off the seventh-inning rally with an RBI single to right field scoring Cesar Izturis Jr. to give West Virginia its first lead of the game. Keegan McGovern’s hit scored Ryan Ramiz, extending the lead to 3-1. Onil Pena then batted in Rodriguez for a 4-1 lead.

Alan Marrero hit a home run for Greenville in the top of the ninth inning to set the final score.

McGovern drove in Ramiz with the Power’s first run in the bottom of the sixth on a line-drive double to center field.

Steven Moyers was the winning pitcher for West Virginia, pitching seven innings and allowing just one run on four hits while striking out eight.

The Power improve (30-31) and Greenville (26-35) meet again at 6:05 p.m. Saturday and conclude the series at 2:05 p.m. Sunday.
