Josh Eilert’s long wait, dedication pay off with WVU assistant position

It didn’t take long for new West Virginia University assistant basketball coach Josh Eilert to run afoul of one of the tripwires of today’s travel — one that adds yet another challenge to the workload of the coaching fraternity.

Trying to navigate the midwest during one of the recruiting trips that are a staple of college coaches’ lives, the newly-minted assistant saw flights delayed and canceled, forcing changes and update to his itinerary. He’s definitely willing to put up with such inconveniences, though, as he’s finally in the spot that he has waited for, and worked toward, for more than 15 years in various roles in the Mountaineer basketball program.
