Lester Raines Mazda

Lester Raines Mazda Sales Manager Tim Russell with a new Mazda CX-30 SUV crossover. Meeting customer requests, Mazda designed the CX-30 to be slightly larger than the Mazda CX-3, but smaller than the Mazda CX-5.

It’s not too big, and it’s not too small. When it comes to size, Mazda’s newly introduced CX-30 SUV crossover vehicle is just right.

The Mazda CX-30 is available now at Lester Raines Mazda, 5035 MacCorkle Ave., S.W., South Charleston.

“It’s brand new for 2020,” said Lester Raines Mazda Sales Manager Tim Russell.

Mazda design engineers listened to customers who wanted something a little bit bigger than Mazda’s smallest crossover, the CX-3. Among other things, the new CX-30 has more backseat room and back-end space than the CX-3.

“They listened to customers about wanting something a little bigger,” Russell said. “The CX-30 is it.”

In Mazda’s lineup of SUVs, the CX-30 joins the CX-3, CX-5 and CX-9, which is Mazda’s largest SUV. Size-wise, the new CX-30 fits between the CX-3 and CX-5.

With the CX-30 added to their stable of crossover SUVs, Mazda now has one to meet anyone’s needs, from single people and couples to families needing a lot of room.

“Now, Mazda’s got an SUV for everybody across the board,” he said.

Russell said the CX-30 price is “well below” the price of a new Mazda CX-5, which is the next size up.

Russell said a new Mazda CX-30 in Premium trim, “loaded up with everything,” would sell for around $31,000.

“They start out at around $25,000.”

Russell touted the craftsmanship evident in Mazda vehicles, and the new CX-30 is no exception. He said Mazda is striving to become known as a premium marque in automobiles.

“They want people to think of them as more of a premium brand,” Russell said.
